Luis Eduardo Barraza

He spent his early professional years being farmed out to gain minutes, first at Oakland Roots SC and then at New York City FC II, before establishing himself between the posts for the first team. By the time he left the club, Barraza had become NYCFC's longest-serving player and the only goalkeeper in its history credited with an assist.

The medals followed: the 2021 MLS Cup, then the 2022 Campeones Cup, where he was named Man of the Match. Those six years in New York ended in December 2024, when NYCFC traded him to D.C. United for a package of allocation money worth up to $150,000. In the capital, Barraza started regularly, making 24 appearances in the 2025 season and keeping four clean sheets.

In January 2026 he moved on again, this time as a free agent, signing with Inter Miami CF through June 2027 with a club option to extend into 2028. Despite his American birth and Mexican eligibility, Barraza has yet to add international caps to a résumé built almost entirely on club football, from his amateur days with Lane United and FC Tucson.
