Matías Fabián Tissera

The signature moment of Matías Tissera's career came at Platense: on loan from Newell's Old Boys, he scored the equaliser in the final that sent the club up to Argentina's Primera División in 2020. He stayed and made the promotion pay off, scoring 14 league goals in 2021 and picking up the LPF's Rising Star award that year. Newell's had brought him through from Sarmiento de Rosario into their academy in 2013, but his path to regular football ran through loans rather than the first team in Rosario — a brief run at Newell's produced five appearances and no goals, and it was only away from the club, first at Quilmes and then at Independiente Rivadavia, that he started finding the net.

Platense made his contract permanent in 2021, and the following year Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad paid a reported €1.5–2 million to take him to Razgrad. It proved a productive move: three Bulgarian First League titles, a domestic cup and a Bulgarian Supercup, plus 16 league goals and six in cup competition over his time there. In January 2025 he returned to Argentina on loan at Huracán, appearing 20 times and scoring twice before the arrangement's buy option lapsed.

In March 2026 he joined Instituto Córdoba on a free transfer, on loan from Ludogorets with an option to buy through the end of the year and a further three-year extension clause attached. He has scored once for the club so far, against Platense. Tissera represented Argentina at youth level but has not been capped by the senior side.
