Marcel Lorber

Marcel Lorber came through the youth ranks at Rogaška before moving on to Aluminij and then Maribor, where he made his senior debut in March 2023. His first goal for the club came that October, against Mura, and by the 2023/24 season he had established himself in the side, finishing the campaign with 29 league appearances, two goals and four assists as Maribor ended the season as runners-up in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.

In September 2024 Lorber moved to NK Domžale on a two-year deal that included a sell-on clause benefiting Maribor. He went on to make 24 appearances for the club, scoring twice, but his time there ended abruptly a year later. In September 2025 he and Domžale agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent after salary payments had been significantly delayed. Slovenian outlet Nogomania confirmed his next move would take him to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb as a free agent.

At Lokomotiva, Lorber has made 15 league appearances across the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons without finding the net, and picked up a red card in a match against Hajduk Split in August 2026.

Internationally, Lorber has represented Slovenia through the youth ranks, with nine caps at under-18 level, twelve at under-19, and a single appearance for the under-21 side.
