About the player
Santiago Quirós came through Boca Juniors' youth ranks before switching to Racing Club's academy in 2021, and it was at Racing that his career took shape. He signed his first professional contract at the end of 2022 and made his senior debut the following February, going on to make around 41 league appearances and scoring once for the club.
His time at Racing coincided with a run of continental success: Quirós was part of the squad that won the Supercopa Internacional in 2022, the Copa Sudamericana in 2024 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2025, and he was named in the matchday squad for the 2024 Copa Sudamericana final. He wore the number 35 shirt throughout his spell in Avellaneda.
In January 2026, Quirós moved to Club Atlético Platense on a season-long loan, a deal confirmed on 8 January that included an option for Platense to buy 80% of his rights outright. The loan runs until the end of December 2026, after which he is due to return to Racing Club.
