Sydney van Hooijdonk

Sydney van Hooijdonk made his senior debut for NAC Breda in October 2018. He stayed on after the team's relegation and became a mainstay of its Eerste Divisie side, scoring 22 goals in 68 appearances before Bologna FC 1909 signed him in July 2021.

Italy proved a harder stage. He made only 13 league appearances for Bologna and spent much of his time out on loan. A spell at SC Heerenveen was by far his most productive: 22 goals in 46 Eredivisie matches. A loan to Norwich City in the Championship followed in February 2024, but he made only 10–12 appearances there without scoring. Bologna then sent him to Cesena on a permanent two-year deal in August 2024, where he again struggled to find the net, going 13 Serie B appearances without a goal.

In January 2025 he returned to NAC Breda on a free transfer, before moving on again a year later to Estrela da Amadora in Portugal's Primeira Liga, signing until 2028. He has made 10 league appearances for the club, scoring once and adding an assist. In September 2026 he went out on loan again, joining PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie for the 2026/27 season with an option to buy.
