About the player
Butenko left Dnipro's academy in 2022, joining the youth setup of Hungarian club Debrecen. He returned to Ukrainian football in August 2023, signing with Kryvbas, where he started out in the U-19 and U-20 sides before being handed his senior debut in the Ukrainian Premier League against Minai on 25 May 2024.
A right-footed midfielder who can also play on the right flank, Butenko has made one senior appearance for Kryvbas so far. He captained the club's U-19 side in a friendly against Hirnyk-Sport in July 2025.
No transfer fee was disclosed for either that switch or his subsequent return to Ukraine with Kryvbas.
