Vicente Fernández

Fernández's career has run almost entirely on loan. He came through Universidad Católica, where he made just one senior appearance, and was still registered with the club when it won the 2019 Torneo Clausura — though he spent that campaign out on loan at Santiago Morning in the Primera B and never featured in the title-winning league squad. Spells at Unión La Calera and Santiago Morning followed before he settled, briefly, at Palestino.

Palestino was where Fernández became a regular starter. Signed as a free agent in January 2020, the left-back went on to make 87 appearances across three years, including continental football in the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores. That run ended in January 2023 when he moved to Argentina on loan to Talleres, a spell interrupted by further loans to Universidad de Chile and, further afield, to Melbourne City in Australia's A-League.

Since leaving Talleres, Fernández has moved club almost every year: to O'Higgins in July 2024, then to Cobresal in January 2025, where he made 31 appearances and scored his first senior goal. He has since joined Everton de Viña del Mar.

Internationally, his involvement has been limited to a single cap for Chile's under-20 side at the 2019 South American U20 Championship.

One episode outside results has followed him: in January 2021, playing for Palestino against his old club Universidad Católica, he was on the pitch for a severe collision between Católica's Federico Lanzillota and Palestino striker Fernando Zampedri.
