Walter Rodríguez

Walter Rodríguez made his debut at Sportivo Luqueño in 2014 and left Paraguay the following year for Italy, joining Parma Calcio. He played in Serie D, the fourth tier, and was part of the club's unbeaten 2015–16 squad that won Girone D and earned promotion to Serie C, though his own appearances there were limited to eight or nine matches.

Back in Paraguay in 2017, he turned out for Club Nacional before a longer spell at Deportivo Capiatá, where he made 55 appearances and scored four goals. In January 2020 he crossed to Colombia to sign for Independiente Medellín, a move that brought his Copa Colombia that same year, alongside an appearance in the 2020–21 Copa Libertadores. Loan spells followed at 12 de Octubre and General Caballero JLM.

His career since has taken him through Resistencia SC, Tigre and Deportivo Riestra in Argentina, before a return to Sportivo Luqueño in 2025 and a free transfer to Sportivo Ameliano this year.

At youth level, Rodríguez was a regular scorer for Paraguay: three goals in four matches at the 2009 South American U-15 Championship, then eleven caps and four goals with the U-17 side. He has not yet earned a senior cap for the national team.
