Ózd Sajóvölgye

Ózd-Sajóvölgye go into the season in NB III Northeast, the third tier of Hungarian football, having earned the place through back-to-back promotions: the B.A.Z. Megyei II. Osztály Észak title in 2021–22, then the B.A.Z. Vármegyei I. Osztály crown in 2024–25. Getting out of the county leagues in three seasons is the kind of climb that leaves a squad short on experience at the level it now has to survive in, and staying up rather than dropping straight back is the question this campaign is built around.

The club exists because Ózdi Kohász SE does not. Kohász once reached the top-flight NB I, in 1961–62, and gave Hungarian football players such as János Csank and Ottó Vincze before it collapsed under debt and relegation in 2003. Ózd-Sajóvölgye picked up the city's football in the years after, working back up from the bottom of the county pyramid, and is taken locally as the side carrying on what Kohász left behind rather than a club with no history behind it.

Home games are played at the Ózd Városi Stadium, though the 2026–27 season is being run out of Putnok's Várady Béla Sportközpont while the ground undergoes renovation, an away-from-home arrangement not every promoted side has to manage in its first year at a new level. In the Magyar Kupa, a third-round tie against Emőd SE this September carries the weight of what is known locally as the Borsod derby.

What the club has not done yet is put a season together at NB III level itself — the promotions came in the county game, and the step up is still to be tested.
