Pyrgos 1968

Pyrgos Stadium holds 6,750 people.

The name on that door has changed more than the building itself. What plays there now traces back to a club founded on 2 August 1968, itself pieced together from earlier sides including Pyrgiacos and Thyella Kattarachou Pyrgou. In July 2025 that lineage merged with PAS Pyrgos 2023, an entity that had already absorbed the dissolved Paniliakos FC, and the combined club took Paniliakos's red and white in place of its old blue and white, along with the torch on the badge.

Paniliakos's own history supplies the names people in Pyrgos still bring up: Stelios Giannakopoulos played there between 1993 and 1996 and later returned as coach, while Predrag Đorđević had a season with the club in 1992–93 before his career took him elsewhere.

On the pitch the rebranded club has moved fast. It won Gamma Ethniki Group 4 in 2025–26, part of back-to-back promotions that took it into Super League 2, and picked up the regional E.P.S. Ilia championship and cup double the year before. The women's side matched that with the Beta Ethniki title in the same season.
