The Turkish Men's Handball Super League (Türkiye Erkekler Hentbol Süper Ligi) operates at the apex of the national handball pyramid. Governed by the Turkey Handball Federation (THF), the competition began in 1982, with the inaugural season following shortly after.
The tournament structure ensures a rigorous campaign for its participants. A regular season, known as the Lig Etabı, sees clubs engage in a double round-robin format where they play each other home and away. Victory yields two points, a draw one, and a loss none. This phase determines the trajectory of the title race and the fight against relegation.
The top six teams advance to the Play-Off stage, competing in another double round-robin where points accumulated during the regular season remain valid. The side finishing highest in this table is crowned champion. Meanwhile, the remaining squads, excluding the bottom team if the league comprises thirteen sides, enter a Play-Out stage to decide which clubs face the drop. Four teams are relegated in total, moving down to the First League (1. Lig).
Promotion to the top flight is contested through a playoff tournament called the "Dörtlü Final," involving four teams. The two highest finishers in this final stage secure a place in the Superlig for the following season.
Beşiktaş stands as the most successful club in the league's history. They have claimed the title nineteen times. Their recent dominance includes victories in the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons, confirming their status as the current champion.
