Maria Rumyantseva Signed Basta's Concert in Sign Language
Russia's deaf handball national teamer explained how Basta's team found her signed-song reels online and invited her to interpret at Luzhniki.
Rumyantseva said Basta's team found her through social media, where she posts reels of songs performed in Russian Sign Language, and reached out roughly a month before the show.
She had a month to prepare and spent all of it rehearsing. Rumyantseva is a professional deaf actress, a graduate of the Russian State Specialized Institute of Arts, and has worked in sign-language song performance on stage for years.
