Carlos Augusto López Venegas

Carlos Augusto López Venegas made his name in Peruvian football before he ever wore the Sport Boys number 7. His breakthrough season came in 2017, when he finished as top scorer of the Peruvian Segunda División with 24 goals in 27 matches for Unión Huaral.

That form eventually opened the door to a return to his native Colombia. He joined Millonarios on loan in 2019, though his involvement in the Torneo Apertura was limited to three league appearances before the club were eliminated by Deportivo Pasto in the quadrangular stage, short of the final that Junior went on to win. Rather than stay in Colombia, López went back to Unión Huaral, the club where he had made his name, and stayed there through 2022.

The following years took him across several Peruvian clubs — Alianza Universidad, then Cultural Santa Rosa, where he continued scoring regularly, including 11 goals in 2024. He signed for Sport Boys in January 2025, taking the number 7 shirt and adding to a career total that sits at around 55 goals in 156 matches.
