About the player
Colatina, in Espírito Santo, is where Gustavo grew up, but it was at Vitória, in Bahia, that he built his career, between 2010 and 2016 and winning the Campeonato Baiano in his final season there.
It was in Santa Catarina that Gustavo had his longest and most productive spell. Across 187 appearances for Criciúma, he won back-to-back Campeonato Catarinense titles in 2023 and 2024, and was named the competition's best goalkeeper in 2022 and again in 2024. He was also part of the squad that took Criciúma back up to Série A.
He left for Juventude on a permanent transfer in 2025, though his time there was brief. In August of that year he moved to América Mineiro on loan, with a permanent switch to the club scheduled for January 2026. He wears the number 1 shirt at his new club.
