About the player

Miguel Alejandro Gómez Ortiz is a graduate of the Chivas academy, having joined the club's under-17 category in July 2019 and worked his way up through the under-19 side before settling into the reserve team, Tapatío, in the Liga de Expansión MX. He made 93 appearances for Tapatío and was a key player as the side won the Liga de Expansión MX title in the 2022/2023 and 2024/2025 seasons; he also won a championship with the Chivas Sub-23 team under coach José "Pepe" Meléndez.

His official debut for the Guadalajara first team came on 25 February 2022, though it was only in the 2024/2025 season, under coach Óscar García, that he made his competitive Liga MX debut. On 15 March 2025, he scored his first professional goal in Liga MX against FC Juárez, with the assist provided by Javier Hernández.

Gómez has also represented Mexico at under-23 level, forming part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador under coach Gerardo Espinoza, though he did not feature in the team's opening match against the Dominican Republic.

Throughout his career, Gómez has remained within the Chivas organisation, moving between Tapatío and the first team rather than joining an external club on transfer or loan. Right-footed, he now wears the number 24 shirt for Guadalajara.
