Marcelo Sebastián González Cabral

Marcelo González Cabral came through the youth academy at Club Guaraní and made his senior debut in 2014, staying with the club until 2022 while going out on a series of loans that took him around Paraguayan football. At Deportivo Santaní in 2018 he scored twice in 21 matches, but it was his loan spell at River Plate (Asunción) that stands as the best spell of his career: five goals in 29 league games in 2020, followed by two more in 15 matches the following year, with appearances in the Copa Sudamericana along the way.

In January 2023 he left Paraguay for the first time, signing permanently for Club Atlético Tucumán in Argentina, and opened his account there against Vélez Sarsfield the following month. That stint lasted a year before he returned home in January 2024 on a free transfer to Nacional (Asunción), where he featured in both the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana in the first half of the season.

Since then his path has moved quickly: a free transfer to Sol de América in July 2024, where he scored once in 17 league appearances, and a move to Atlético Tembetary at the start of 2025. He now wears the number 40 shirt at Club Sportivo 2 de Mayo. Across his career the forward has scored around 27 goals in 226 league appearances.
