About the player
Marko Bugarin's career has been a steady climb through Montenegrin and Serbian football before a move into Uzbek and now Russian football. Born in Bijelo Polje, the 198cm left-footed defender began at his hometown club, Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje, in 2016. A spell at Igalo 1925 was followed by a return to Jedinstvo, then a move to Mornar, where he was part of the squad that won the Montenegrin Second League in the 2020/21 season. A loan to Bokelj interrupted his time at Mornar before he went back to Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje once more in 2022.
In 2023 he crossed into Serbian football, first with Spartak Subotica and then Mladost Novi Sad, before returning to Montenegro in 2024 to join Otrant-Olimpik. The following year took him further afield still, to Uzbek side Bunyodkor on a free transfer in January 2025. In July 2026 he moved again, joining Spartak Kostroma in Russia, once more as a free agent from Bunyodkor.
By the time he arrived in Kostroma, Bugarin had passed 200 professional appearances. He now wears the number 21 shirt for his new club.
