Omar Galvez

Omar Alejandro Gálvez Vidales is a product of Monterrey's academy, having joined the club's cantera at the U-13 level in 2018 and worked his way through every youth category since — U-17, U-19, U-21 and U-23 — without ever moving to another club. That patience paid off in 2025, when he lifted the U-19 Liga MX Apertura title, and again in 2026, when he finally broke into the first team, appearing in the CONCACAF Champions Cup and in Liga MX fixtures against Atlético San Luis and Inter Miami.

Born in Guasave, Gálvez plays as an attacking midfielder and favours his right foot. His development has also run through the Mexican youth setup: he was capped eight times for the under-17 national team during the qualifying rounds of the 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.

What stands out most in his story so far is the length of the road he took to reach Monterrey's first team — eight years inside the same academy.
