Quentin Braat

Quentin Braat's route to Rodez ran through six years at FC Nantes without ever making the first team. He joined the club's academy in 2012 and signed his first professional contract in 2017, but his appearances were confined to Nantes II in the CFA and National divisions. A loan to Chamois Niortais in 2019–20 finally put him in Ligue 2, and he made the move permanent in 2020, staying until 2022 and racking up 55 appearances across all competitions.

Braat then left France altogether, joining Real Oviedo on a free transfer and returning home in 2025 to sign for Rodez. He had already tasted international success much earlier: he was part of the France under-19 squad that won the 2016 European Under-19 Championship, though as understudy to Paul Bernardoni he did not play a single minute of the tournament. A single cap for France under-20 followed.

It is at Rodez that Braat has made his mark as a first-choice goalkeeper. He was named UNFP Ligue 2 Goalkeeper of the Year and included in the division's Team of the Year, recognition that arrived only after years of understudy roles at Nantes and steady service at Niort and Oviedo. He also holds a run of 119 consecutive appearances as a starter across all competitions.
