Renan Areias

Renan Areias's career began at Corinthians, where he spent ten seasons in the youth ranks without ever making a senior league appearance for the club's first team. He captained the Corinthians U-20 side to the final of the 2018 Copa do Brasil Sub-20, finishing as runner-up, and had earlier represented Brazil at U-17 level, winning the 2015 South American U-17 Championship across ten caps. None of that translated into senior recognition; a call-up to the full Brazil squad never followed.

After his Corinthians contract expired in 2019, the midfielder moved abroad, joining Belgian side KSV Roeselare on a free transfer. His time there was broken up by loan spells in Israel, first at FC Ashdod and then at Hapoel Iksal, where he scored twice in 17 league appearances. He returned to Brazilian football in 2021 with Confiança before switching to Criciúma later that year.

A run through smaller Brazilian clubs followed — Cianorte and a loan at Camboriú in 2023 — before another move abroad, to Bulgaria's Krumovgrad, where he made 26 or 27 appearances and scored once. A loan to Cherno More Varna in 2024 preceded his furthest move yet, to South Korea's Gyeongnam FC in January 2025. He made 31 matches and scored two goals in K League 2.

In March 2026, Renan signed for Figueirense on a permanent deal running until the end of November 2026, arriving from Gyeongnam on undisclosed terms.
