About the player
Victor Souza came up through the youth ranks at São Caetano and Cruzeiro before turning professional at Tupi-MG, then spent several seasons at Tombense-MG, with a loan spell at Democrata-MG along the way.
The high point of his career came in 2019 with Cuiabá, when he started both legs of the Copa Verde final against Paysandu. The tie finished level on aggregate after a 1-1 draw, and Cuiabá won it on penalties, with Souza as the starting goalkeeper throughout.
After Cuiabá he moved to CRB, then joined Paysandu, where he had his moment in the spotlight in 2021: a save against Madureira in the Copa do Brasil was voted the "Most Beautiful Save" of the competition's first phase by fans. His spell at Paysandu included a loan to Londrina in 2022, and he also had a stint at Água Santa that year. He has not been capped by the Brazilian national team at any level.
Souza joined Botafogo-SP in March 2023 on a free transfer.
