When Siirtspor FK walked out against Dersimspor in the Ziraat Turkish Cup on 16 September 2026, it was the first competitive match played under that name.

The name change came on the back of a season worth changing it for. In 2025–26 the club won the Siirt 1. Amatör Lig, beating Siirt Canspor 1–0 in the playoff final to secure promotion into the Bölgesel Amatör Lig. The younger end of the club had already given a hint of what was coming — the under-17 side won a regional championship cup in 2025, going through its group unbeaten to reach the national finals.

Siirtspor plays its cup football and its derbies at the Siirt Atatürk Stadyumu, a ground that holds 5,650.
