«Naisa»
Hala Čair holds 4,800 for handball, part of a sports centre that opened in 1974 and went through a full reconstruction in 2011 ahead of the European Men's Handball Championship, brought up to EHF standard.
The club took the name in 2005; before that it was RK DIN, founded in 1969 and named after the Niš tobacco factory that backed it. Black and yellow have stayed the colours throughout.
Its best run came in the mid-2000s. Naisa won the Cup of Serbia and Montenegro in 2004, beating Budućnost Podgorica 27:26 in the final, then took the Superliga of Serbia title in 2008. In between, in 2007, it won the EHF Challenge Cup.
Svetlana Ognjenović came through that era, a left winger who went on to 113 caps and 195 goals for Serbia. Sanja Damnjanović, a left back for the national team, was voted the country's best handball player for 2013/14.
Across Niš, ŽRK Napredak has been the other side of the city's handball rivalry.
