The senior team has spent recent seasons collecting honours that would define most clubs' entire histories: the EHF European League in 2023/24, back-to-back Norwegian Cups in 2024 and 2025, the league title in 2024/25. It wasn't always this way — in 2015 the elite side dropped out of the Eliteserien altogether, undone by negative equity of 3.5 million kroner, and only returned a year later once the books were clean. Storhamar 2 plays no part in that story; it exists in the shadow of it, developing players such as Anniken Obaidli and Kamilla Sundmoen with an eye on the first team rather than on trophies of its own.

Its own results sit in the middle of the 1. Division table — 12th in 2022/23, 8th the following season. Home games are played at the Boligpartner Arena, a hall of around 1,700 seats. There is a partnership with Wang Toppidrett for youth players coming through, feeding the pipeline the reserve side is built to serve.

No league title, no promotion push that has stuck, no rivalry of its own to speak of — Larvik HK and Vålerenga belong to the elite team's fixture list, not this one's.
