The football team itself only came into being on 26 October 2021, grafted onto a multi-sport club that had run since 1994 largely as a vehicle for volleyball. Football gave the same badge a new audience almost overnight.

The climb read cleanly on paper: the Tokat 1. Amatör Ligi in 2021-22, then the Bölgesel Amatör Lig's fourth group in 2022-23. Muhammed Emir Özbilen was among those who carried the side through that stretch.

Burgundy and white on the shirt, Plevneliler as the nickname, and a ground problem that came with success: Gaziosmanpaşa Stadyumu holds 5,762, but renovation work has pushed matches out to the smaller TOGÜ Stadyumu, with room for under 2,000.

None of that history includes a run in the Turkish Cup beyond the early rounds, and the club has changed its own name more than once along the way — Tokat Belediye Plevnespor gave way, for 2025-26, back to Tokat Belediyespor. What stays constant is the task in front of them: holding a place in the 3. Lig against clubs with far longer roots in professional football.
