The ground sits inside a park, roughly a kilometre north-west of the centre of Murska Sobota , on Kopališka ulica.
Work on the new football pitch began in 1934 . It took two years; the ground was completed and formally opened on 28 June 1936 . The surface has stayed natural grass.
The setting is the part that will make life awkward for anyone comparing it with the newer arenas built on open ground outside Slovenian towns.
