Mura

Mura play in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, and the club that carries the name there was registered only in 2012, after the previous holder of it was wound up. The football association does not treat the earlier bodies as one lineage, so the record book restarted from scratch — which is why a side from a town of Murska Sobota was still in the second tier as recently as the 2017–18 season, which it won.

What followed came quickly. The Slovenian Cup arrived in 2019–20, and the league title in 2020–21. The fixture that matters most is against Maribor, across the old regional line: the Prekmurje–Styria derby, where the table goes out of the window.

Gregor Balažič spent eight years at the club, from 2015 to 2023, running through the second-division promotion, the cup and the championship before moving on to Ural and then Partizan.

The black-and-white stripes give the club its nickname — Čarno-bejli in the local dialect, the Black and Whites elsewhere — with gold turning up on the alternate kit.

Home is the Fazanerija City Stadium, built in 1936 and holding 4,506 seated, a little under 4,700 once standing room is counted.
