Sparebanken Norge Arena
The ground has changed its name three times. It opened in 2007 as Sør Arena , took the name Sparebanken Sør Arena in 2014, and became Sparebanken Norge Arena in May 2025, after Sparebanken Sør and Sparebanken Vest merged into Sparebanken Norge.
The attendance record belongs to the first match played here. On 15 April 2007 IK Start drew 1–1 with Viking in front of 14,448, a figure close to the design capacity of 14,563.
Kjell Kosberg of Kosbergs Arkitektkontor drew the stadium, and building started on 11 January 2006. The 2005 estimate put the work at 177 million kroner. Start Stadion AS owned it until 2013, when Kristiansand Municipality took the ground over.
The pitch has been synthetic since 2012, laid over the natural grass the stadium opened with, and relaid as an MX Elite surface with a new underlay pad in 2020.
Elton John played here on 26 June 2007, drawing more than 20,000; Dolly Parton followed in 2008 and a-ha in 2010.
