Sydbank Arena
Kolding, Denmark
Formerly: Kolding Hallerne, Tre-For Arena
Sydbank Arena in Kolding holds a reputation for being a venue. The ground opened in 1996 as Kolding Hallerne. The primary tenant is KIF Kolding, who play on the indoor wooden court.
The complex underwent a significant physical shift in 2015 with a major expansion. This renovation added a new large sports hall with telescopic stands, allowing the venue to reach a capacity of roughly 5,200 spectators. The increase in size was timed to host matches during the 2015 World Women’s Handball Championship. The arena also hosted matches during the 2020 European Women’s Handball Championship, proving its utility for international fixtures.
The layout is distinct because it is an indoor facility with a wooden sports floor rather than grass. The venue has changed names several times due to sponsorship, settling on Sydbank Arena after the 2015 renovation. It remains a municipal asset, owned by Kolding Municipality, and serves as a central hub for sport in the Region of Southern Denmark.
