Odesa

Two lost finals, in 2017–18 and again in 2019–20, came before Odense Håndbold finally took the Danish Championship in 2020–21. The club retained the title the following season and added a third in 2025.

The domestic cup followed a similar pattern of near-misses before breakthroughs: runners-up on five occasions between 2017 and 2024, champions in 2019–20 and again in 2025, the year Odense also won the Super Cup for the second time. The club reached the final of the EHF Champions League, where Győri ETO KC beat them 29–27.

Team Esbjerg remain the side Odense measure themselves against, a rivalry both clubs call eternal and one that has settled more than one championship race on the final weekend. Mie Højlund has captained the team through much of this run; Katrine Lunde joined in goal in 2025.

Orange shirts and black shorts gave the club its nickname, Orange, and its supporters the name Orange Power — attached to a team that has only carried the name Odense Håndbold since 2016. Before that it was HC Odense, and before that Odense GOG, formed in August 2009 when players broke away from GOG Svendborg TGI as the older club slid into financial trouble, taking its top-flight licence with them.
