Superleague (Ukraine) 2026/27

The Ukrainian Men's Handball Super League (Ukrainian: Гандбольна Суперліга) stands as the premier professional handball competition within Ukraine. Organised by the Handball Federation of Ukraine (HFU), the tournament was established in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It evolved from earlier iterations known as the Higher League and the Premier League before adopting its current name.

The league operates with eight participating clubs, including Avia Grade Constanta, Dinamo Poltava, and Khmelnitsky. The structure of the season has adapted significantly in recent years. While the traditional format involved a home and away regular season followed by potential playoffs, recent editions have often determined the champion solely through final standings due to logistical challenges. Historically, a "gold series" was used to decide the title if the point gap after the regular season was narrow.

HC Motor Zaporizhzhia holds the record for most titles, securing the championship thirteen times. This includes a dominant run of consecutive wins stretching from 2013 to 2025. HC ZTR Zaporizhzhia follows closely with fourteen titles, primarily accumulated between 1993 and 2011. The current reigning champion is HC Motor Zaporizhzhia.

The Super League serves as the primary pathway for determining the national champion and is the sole qualifier for top-tier European competitions such as the EHF Champions League. It operates independently from the Ukrainian Cup, which is a knockout tournament, and the Ukrainian Super Cup, a single match between the league champion and cup winner.

Promotion and relegation links exist with the First League (Persha Liha). The champion of the lower division earns a spot in the Super League, while the bottom teams in the top flight face relegation. For the 2025–2026 season, Avia-Grade-Constanta Zaporizhzhia Oblast secured promotion after winning the First League in the previous campaign. The competition remains the central focus for professional handball development in the country.
