Beijer Hockey Games (EU) 2026/27

The Beijer Hockey Games is an annual international men’s ice hockey invitational tournament hosted in Sweden. Founded in 1991 by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, the event has evolved through several sponsorship-driven name changes, including the LG Hockey Games and Oddset Hockey Games, before adopting its current title in 2019.

The competition serves as the Swedish stage of the Euro Hockey Tour, a series involving the national teams of Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. Russia originally participated in the tour but was replaced by Switzerland in 2022. The Swedish tournament itself joined the Euro Hockey Tour structure in 1997. The format relies on a round-robin system where each of the four participating teams plays three games. Scoring follows a specific point system: three points for a regulation win, two for an overtime or shootout victory, one point for a loss in overtime or shootout, and zero for a regulation loss.

The winner of this specific leg of the tournament receives the Globen Cup. Unlike domestic club competitions, there is no promotion or relegation involved, as the event features established national teams in an invitational format. While the broader Euro Hockey Tour has seen Finland and Russia tied for the most titles historically, the current composition focuses on the four active nations. In the 2025 edition of the Beijer Hockey Games, Finland secured the victory with eight points, finishing ahead of the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Sweden. The tournament remains distinct from other Swedish hockey events by focusing on international rivalry rather than club structure.
