The EHT Final serves as the concluding stage of the Women's Euro Hockey Tour (WEHT), an annual international ice hockey tournament established in the 2018–19 season. This event brings together the core member nations of the WEHT for a final round-robin contest to determine the season's overall winner based on cumulative points from all four annual tournaments. The participating teams for this final stage typically include the Czech Republic, Finland, and Switzerland, with Sweden occasionally absent due to scheduling conflicts.
Unlike the men's counterpart, which has existed since 1996 and remains a strict four-nation European contest, the women's tour incorporates guest teams such as Canada, the USA, and Germany into specific events to enhance visibility and competition quality. The structure positions the WEHT as a high-level preparatory competition for major international events like the IIHF Women's World Championship and the Olympics, rather than operating as a tiered league with promotion or relegation. It sits below the IIHF World Championship in the hierarchy of European women's ice hockey.
Finland holds the record for the most successful nation in the modern WEHT era, having secured the overall title in multiple seasons including 2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18, 2019–20, 2022–23, 2024–25, and 2025–26. The Czech Republic claimed the 2023–24 title, while Russia won the inaugural 2018–19 edition before being suspended and replaced by Switzerland. The tournament operates under a joint commitment from the four core nations through the 2027–28 season, with organization managed directly by the participating national federations.
