About

The Women's Euro Hockey Tour is an annual international ice hockey tournament series involving national teams from Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. Organized under the auspices of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the competition serves as a preparatory platform for these squads ahead of major events such as the IIHF Women's World Championship and the Winter Olympics. It operates independently of the traditional domestic league structure, functioning instead as an invitational series.

The season is structured around four distinct tournaments, or stops, hosted in rotation by the participating nations. Switzerland typically hosts one stop in August, while the Czech Republic usually holds its tournament in April or May. Finland and Sweden alternate hosting duties for the remaining two events. At each venue, the four core teams compete in a round-robin format. The overall victor is determined by the cumulative points earned across all four tournaments. The scoring system awards three points for a regulation win, two for an overtime or shootout victory, and one point for a loss in overtime or a shootout. Goal difference serves as the tie-breaker when points are equal.

Finland holds the distinction of being the most successful team in the tournament's history, having secured the overall title in multiple editions including the 2018–19, 2020–21, 2021–22, and 2022–23 seasons. The Czech Republic also claimed victory in the 2023–24 and 2024–25 campaigns. While some reports suggested a Swedish triumph in the 2025–26 season, official verification indicates Finland secured that edition as well. The 2019–20 season was cancelled due to the pandemic. Unlike the premier IIHF Women's World Championship, this tour functions primarily as a developmental series held during the regular season rather than a single decisive title event.
