Augsburger Panther — Kolner: 4:6, DEL

Köln defeated Augsburger Panther 6-4 in the DEL on Sunday, September 27th. The visitors completed their third fixture of the season with a convincing away victory, while the hosts slipped to their first defeat after two wins.

There were no minute-by-minute details supplied for this match, so the narrative rests on the scoreline and what preceded it. Köln had been inconsistent of late — a 5-6 loss to Eisbären Berlin followed by a 4-3 win over Frankfurt Löwen — and this result steadied their hand. By then they needed something to build on.

We had tipped the visitors to win, and they delivered on that 54 per cent confidence. The away side showed they can raise the tempo when they need to, turning a tight contest into a six-goal affair against a Panther side that had looked solid at home.

Both teams remain on zero points in the table after three games. The standings say nothing yet, but the momentum shifts matter — Köln moved off the bottom of their recent form cycle, while Augsburger Panther's unbeaten run at home came to an end.
