Bitigheim Steelers saw off Weiden 7-3 in their Del2 fixture on Thursday evening, extending their winning start to two games while the visitors remain winless after two matches. The home side doubled their advantage over a team they had beaten 4-3 earlier in the month.
Bitigheim came out sharp from the opening whistle. They had the game won inside twenty minutes, racing into an early lead that Weiden could never really threaten to close. The visitors managed to string together a couple of goals in the middle period, but the home side had enough in reserve to see out the match without fuss.
Weiden's record speaks for itself — two defeats and zero points in two games. They have lost five straight, including a heavy 2-7 hammering at Landshut and a 3-4 defeat to Bitigheim on 11 September. They threw everything at it in this one, but Bitigheim's defence held firm and the home side punished the space they left behind.

Bitigheim had been in good form, winning four of their last five outings, while Weiden had found themselves in a rut. The market had overreacted to Weiden's early-season struggles, and the scoreboard reflected that reality.
Bitigheim sit 11th after two games with one win and one loss. Weiden remain in 10th, also with zero points. Neither position means much at this stage — the season is barely underway — but the gap between the sides was clear enough on the night.
