Olten secured a remarkable 9-4 victory against Schur in the Swiss League on Saturday evening, defying expectations with a comprehensive performance. The away side travelled to face the second-placed home team and delivered a statement win that caught many observers off guard.
The result came as a surprise given the standings, with Schur sitting second after one match while Olten had yet to play a league game this season. The visitors' performance suggested they had been preparing quietly for their first competitive fixture.
Schur's recent form had been impressive, including a 6-3 win over GCK Lions and a 5-1 victory against Freiburg. Yet they paid for a sloppy opening, allowing Olten to establish momentum early and never look back throughout the contest.
Olten's away end never stopped, creating sustained pressure that the home defence struggled to contain. The visitors worked a short corner to open the scoring and extended their unbeaten run with confidence as the game progressed.
The victory moves Olten into contention for a higher position, while Schur's unbeaten start comes under scrutiny. A single mistake ends it when opponents are this clinical, and the home side simply could not recover from their early deficits.
