Fiorentina and Deportivo La Coruña played out a 1:1 draw in a Club Friendly on Wednesday evening. The match finished with both sides sharing the points after ninety minutes of play.
C. Ndour gave Fiorentina the lead in the seventeenth minute, arriving shortly after a yellow card had been shown in the sixteenth. Deportivo responded with a substitution in the forty-sixth minute, bringing on N. Carrillo at the start of the second half.
Things tightened up around the fifty-sixth minute when another yellow card appeared, and then B. Nsongo equalised for the visitors in the eighty-ninth. P. Aubameyang and L. Noubi both came on during the second half as the hosts looked for something more.
Fiorentina held 52 per cent possession to Deportivo's 48, with three corners against two for the visitors. Three yellow cards for the away side compared to one for the hosts, but the statistics tell you little about how the game actually felt.
By then both teams had been testing themselves in recent friendlies. Fiorentina drew 2:2 with Real Madrid on Sunday and beat Watford 1:0, while Deportivo's last outing before this was a 2:2 draw with Saint Pauli. Neither side needed much from this result, and neither got much.
