Kladno — Mlada Boleslav: 4:3, Extraliga

Kladno saw off Mladá Boleslav 4:3 in the Extraliga on Friday evening. The hosts took all three points at home, moving them further clear of the danger zone they've occupied all season.

The match had all the hallmarks of a tight affair from the opening whistle. Both sides came in off disjointed run of results, and that nervousness showed in the early exchanges.

We tipped the home side to win on Saturday with 57 per cent confidence. and here's the thing — it played out exactly as we thought. Kladno's familiar structure against a visitor that struggles to string performances together made the difference.

Mladá Boleslav had their chances but couldn't find the consistency they need when the pressure mounts. by then the visitors were chasing the game rather than dictating it.

The visitors have now lost six of eight league matches. They sit 13th with no points on the board — the season is barely under way and the table tells us very little yet.

Kladno's recent form had been patchy at best. They lost four of their previous five before this victory, which means they've finally found something to build on.

The result leaves the hosts in a position to push for something more substantial next season. to be fair, they'll need to maintain this level if they want to avoid the same struggles that have defined their campaign so far.
