Lindau — Füssen: 3:2, Oberliga Süd

Lindau beat Füssen 3:2 in the Oberliga Süd on Tuesday evening. The home side picked up their first points of the campaign after a run that had left them winless in eight matches. Füssen, meanwhile, extended their own winless streak to five games away from home.

Both teams had been chasing their first victory when they met. Lindau's recent results told a story of high-scoring defeats — 4:7 against Pöttmes, 1:5 to Passau, and 2:3 at Stuttgart. Füssen's away form had been equally unkind, with losses to Heilbronner Falken and Stuttgart among their last five.

And here's the thing about this fixture — we'd tipped the hosts at 70 percent confidence before kick-off. Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. Lindau dug in when it mattered, and Füssen couldn't find the breakthrough they needed.

By then both sides sat in the lower half of the table with zero points after eight games. The gap between them wasn't vast — two places separated twelve from fourteen — but the result shifts the momentum. Lindau finally ended their winless run.

The away end never stopped, but Füssen were second to everything in the final moments. Things came to a head when Lindau held their nerve. One mistake ends it, and that's what separated them here.
