Hochstadt Alligators — Erding, Oberliga Süd

Erding took all three points at Hochstadt on Tuesday, running out 4-0 winners in the Oberliga Süd. The visitors had it under control from the first whistle, while the hosts offered little resistance at home.

Both sides had been scoring freely in recent weeks. Hochstadt won two on the bounce before this match, beating Rißersee 4-1 and Kaufbeuren 4-3. Erding were equally prolific, with a 3-2 win over Bregenzerwald and a 2-0 shutout of Selm on their mind.

and here's the thing — we had Hochstadt winning this one, 52 per cent confidence. The match went the other way entirely. The visitors simply took it apart, and the hosts got dragged out of position without any real fight.

to be fair, the table tells you nothing yet. Both sides sit on zero points after eight games, so the 11th-place finish for Hochstadt and fifth for Erding are more about timing than quality. What matters is the run they're building.

Erding now have a fourth straight win, while Hochstadt's two-game winning streak is over. The gap between them on the pitch was wider than the table suggests.
