MAC Ujbuda secured their first victory of the season with a 2:1 win over DAB in the Erste Liga on Saturday. The result gives the hosts one point from their opening fixture, while the visitors remain winless after their first match. It was a narrow margin for the home side, who had arrived with a string of heavy defeats behind them.
DAB's recent form made this a difficult assignment from the outset. They had lost seven consecutive games before this fixture, suffering scores of 0:7, 0:6 and 0:6 in their previous three outings. The visitors managed to avoid a rout, but it was still a fifth straight loss extending back to January.
Our prediction offered a 65 per cent confidence level on the home side, and it came through. MAC Ujbuda showed enough resilience to take the three points from a game where the visitors had every reason to feel they had nothing to lose.
The hosts had not been in such a position for some time. Their last five results included losses to Lipót-Miklós, Waiden and three matches against Brașov, with results of 4:5, 1:5 and 2:4 among them. This win provided a different outcome from what they had grown accustomed to.
Both teams sit with one game played and zero points in the table, though that figure hardly tells the full story. MAC Ujbuda have now moved into sixth place with a single victory, while DAB remain in eighth after their opening defeat.
