Guangxi Hancheng moved up to third in League One with a 2-4 victory over Ningbo Professional at the Regular Season-17 fixture on 1 August 2026. The visitors carried their form into the final third, finishing 10 points clear of the hosts at the halfway stage.
Noel Mbo opened the scoring in the eleventh minute before Pang Kaiyuan found the net shortly after the interval. Mbo added a second in the forty-ninth minute, and by then Guangxi had extended their unbeaten run to eight matches. Chen Dongtao and Loic Lapoussin both found the back of the net in the second half, with Men Yang scoring in the eightieth minute to seal the result.
Ningbo Professional paid for a sloppy opening, conceding twice before the break. They earned a yellow card each for Lyu Jiaqiang and Liu Yue, who was substituted in the forty-first minute. The visitors also saw Wei Chaolun booked, while a red card was shown to one of their players though the timing is not recorded.
And here's the thing about the statistics — Ningbo Professional held 58 per cent possession but created only one big chance compared to two for Guangxi. The hosts registered six shots on target against five for the visitors, yet the away side's 56 per cent accuracy told a different story. Ningbo Professional made 23 tackles to 25 for Guangxi, but the visitors were sharper when it mattered.
The result leaves Guangxi Hancheng in third place with 36 points from 21 games, while Ningbo Professional remain ninth on 26 points. The visitors have now gone unbeaten in five league matches, extending a run that began after their heavy defeat to Shandong Taishan in June.
