Tappara — SaiPa: 2:4, Liiga

SaiPa took Tappara to 2:4 in the Liiiga on Saturday evening. The visitors finished stronger, scoring four goals against two for the home side. We had backed Tappara at 51 per cent confidence, but the match went another way. And here's the thing — SaiPa's momentum carried through from their 5:0 win the day before.

Both sides sit on zero points after six games, so the table still tells us little. To be fair, SaiPa's fifth place looks ahead of Tappara's tenth, but those gaps mean nothing this early. What matters is the away team showed up ready.

Tappara's recent results read like a mixed bag — a 4:0 victory, a 6:0 hammering, then losses to Lukko and TPS Turku. SaiPa bounced back from a 1:2 defeat with that 5:0 statement against Assat. By then the pattern was clear: the visitors had found their rhythm.

This result puts SaiPa ahead on goal difference despite identical point totals. Tappara now face questions about consistency after three defeats in six outings. The home side will need to find answers before the next round.

Four goals in one evening against Tappara's defence — that's the story here. The away team didn't just win; they dominated. And that's what separates a good performance from a great one.
