Rajeccko beat Zabrez 5-2 in the Cup round of 128 on Wednesday evening. The away side took control early and never looked back. Two goals from R. Price sealed the victory before D. Nizky and A. Krc added late decorations.
And here's the thing about these cup ties — the first half told you everything. F. Sznapka opened the scoring at ten minutes, then M. Cholovskyi doubled the lead three minutes later. By then, Zabrez had already fallen behind their own expectations. M. Horky made it 3-0 before the break.
The second half brought no surprise. R. Price netted twice in quick succession, first after the hour mark and again shortly after. D. Nizky added a fourth for the visitors, before A. Krc converted a penalty at the 81st minute to complete the rout.
Zabrez came in with mixed recent form. They drew 2-2 with Hranice last month, but followed that with a heavy 4-0 defeat to Unichov. Rajeccko had been more consistent, beating Zdar nad Sazavou 4-1 and sharing points in two matches against Kurzim.
The away end never stopped after the opener. The home side simply couldn't respond to the early pressure. Three goals in the first half proved too much to overcome, even with the home crowd behind them.
Rajeccko advance to the next round with plenty to celebrate. Zabrez will need to regroup quickly — they're running out of time in this competition. The result leaves the visitors with a comfortable margin and momentum heading forward.
