Salavat Yulaev Part Ways With Konovalov

Ufa terminated Ilya Konovalov's contract by mutual agreement, two days after the goalkeeper conceded seven goals in a 5:8 loss to Barys.

Salavat Yulaev have terminated their contract with goalkeeper Ilya Konovalov by mutual agreement.

The move comes two days after the 28-year-old let in seven goals against Barys before being pulled for Ilya Yelin. Ufa lost that game 5:8, with Konovalov beaten seven times inside 42 minutes.

Konovalov had joined Salavat Yulaev only in November 2025. In nine regular-season appearances for the club he posted a.862 save percentage, though his playoff numbers with the team were far sharper at.970. Across his full KHL career he has played 248 matches, saved 91.6 per cent of shots faced with a 2.29 goals-against average and 22 shutouts to his name.

He arrived in Ufa having previously played for Ryazan, Lokomotiv, Bakersfield Condors, Dynamo Moscow and Admiral.
