Daniil Prokhorov, a 19-year-old Russian forward, opened the scoring in the second period and levelled it at 2:2 in the third. Cole Eizerman, a 20-year-old American, then tied it at 4:4 with 1:21 left in regulation before scoring the winner in overtime.
Prokhorov was picked by the Islanders with the 42nd overall selection at the 2025 NHL Draft. He spent last season on loan at Dynamo Moscow.
