Luke Johnson has named borscht and pelmeni as his favourite dishes after four years in Russia with Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
The American forward, asked what still surprises him about life in Russia, said he has settled in well after four seasons at the Magnitogorsk club and pointed to the support he received from the organisation, staff and supporters from the moment he arrived.
Asked whether he feels partly Russian after four years there, Johnson said he does to some extent, adding that he needs to work harder on his Russian to make it easier to talk to people he described as kind and welcoming.
On cities, Johnson picked out Moscow as "stunning" and very clean, drawing a contrast with cities in North America, while adding that Magnitogorsk has its own strengths as well.
