Vadim Zherenko has signed a tryout contract with Ottawa. The 25-year-old goaltender is one of seven netminders named to the club's training camp roster.
Zherenko spent four seasons in the St. Louis system without making an NHL appearance. In the AHL he played 128 regular-season matches for Springfield.
Last season brought him 44 games for the Thunderbirds, with 17 wins, a 90.2% save percentage and a 3.08 goals-against average.
