Nikita Gusev Still Without a Club, Says Rybin
Ex-KHL forward Maxim Rybin says he's surprised Gusev remains unsigned since leaving Dynamo, calling it bad for the player, the league and fans.
Maxim Rybin, a former KHL forward, says he cannot understand why Nikita Gusev remains without a club this deep into the off-season.
Gusev's contract with Dynamo expired on 31 May, and the winger has been an unrestricted free agent ever since. Rybin argued the situation should have been resolved weeks ago.
"By and large, it is surprising that Nikita Gusev is still without a club. By 15-20 August he could already have sorted out his employment. And the fact that he is now without a contract is, to put it mildly, not good — not for him, and not for the league or the fans. A player of that calibre would be needed by many teams in the KHL," Rybin said.
No further details on Gusev's plans or any talks with clubs have been reported.
